Patriot Black powder issue
« on: October 02, 2005, 06:15:17 AM »
Just bought a TC Patriot Black Powder, sight unseen, its brand new, estate sale, but can't cock the hammer back to fire it.  I've taken the pistol apart, except the trigger mechanisam and hammer mechinanism. Is there some special technique to assemble the trigger and hammer??? Where can I get the schematics of this gun or manual??? Previous owner used it as a decoration in the house, but they passed so little info on the gun.

I've never owned one of these but I have an old  TC instruction book that was packed with all their muzzle loading guns.  It has a section on the Patriot Pistol.

The dual triggers operate in "set" mode only.  The front trigger is the set trigger and the rear is the firing trigger (opposite of rifles).
Instructions say to pull on the rear trigger to make sure it's not set and then put on half cock to load.

Contact TC for schematics or warranty info.  They should send you an instruction booklet at no charge.
