Old Contender Frame - Easy Open Conversion
« on: February 28, 2003, 01:50:49 PM »
Sent my frame back to TC for the conversion, they received it Feb. 07.  It arrived back home today, a mere 3 weeks from the day they received it!!

Have not shot it yet, but it sure opens nice, and the trigger is a crisp almost 3 pounds.....with virtually not creep.. Just what I requested.
Should make the .22LR Super 14" Match Barrel a real joy to shoot.

This is the second time I have used the TC Repair service, first was summer of 2001 when they lightened the trigger on my new Encore.  It was also returned promptly and very nice.

TC is Tops in my book!!!! I do not know what I may be missing by using TC instead of another custom shop.

Have a Great Weekend.... Rol

Old Contender Frame - Easy Open Conversion

I too have had very good results with both T/C and Fox Ridge Outfitters. They have always treated me just as I would have expected them to. I too recently sent in an older Frame for the Easy Open Conversion. I was a little disappointed with the trigger feel after I had adjusted it as light as I dared go. I phoned Fox Ridge Outfitters and spoke to someone in Customer Service to complain. I explained that after I could not get it adjusted to my satisfaction I took it apart and noticed that the engagement surface on the trigger was not square. In a matter of a few days I received a package containing a new trigger and striker (at no charge), and they appeared to have been hand honed. Now I have a GREAT Trigger on this frame. BTW this frame is also being used with a Super 14 Match Grade .22 LR Barrel that I use in Rimfire Bench Rest competition with a 3x12x Burris LER Handgun Scope.
