I just wondering how a hole you like to see in your deer. I have tried a few factory loads. I have gotten exit wounds as small as 1\4" up to about 3". For me I like an exit wound of about 1". That meakes for a good blood trail to follow if they are not down in sight. When you hunt in the thick stuff like I like to they don't have to go far before you loose sight of one.

Hole "In", .495. Hole "out", .495. Provides nice leaks on each side and a double tracking line that ends quickly.

In my opinion as long as you have an exit wound in the vital zone everything will turn out ok.
As far as size goes anything from .257 - .429 works for me.

People, hogs, dogs or deer I prefer not to have an exit wound.
