Ordered a couple of Rugers
« on: October 05, 2005, 01:18:28 PM »
Well hopefully the wife won't get too mad at me.  I ordered a ruger Blackhawk .357 and a stainless Bearcat through our rod and gun club here at the air base.  Should be in Saturday.  With the 11 percent they charge it's going to cost me 644.60  I think this is a decent price for two great guns.  I was thinking hard on a vaquero - but with target shooting and possibly white-tail deer hunting - I opted for the blackhawk.  Now the Bearcat is just going to be a fun little gun and like Dusty maybe I will take my granddaughters out shooting next time they come to visit from Colorado.

I got two Rugers in April, a 5 1/2" SS Super Blackhawk and a SS Bearcat. The SB is very accurate, it is hard to tell with the Bearcat. I have recently gotten a 50th Anniversary .357 Mag. Flattop Blackhawk. While I had a pair of Vaqueros, I didn't like them as much as the Blackhawks. I like the much better sights of the Blackhawk. Personal preference.
Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks Tom.  I went online to Ruger's site - man the retail price of those guns are outrageous!!  I'm glad I'm getting them at the price stated above.

I have two Blackhawks, a 45 Colt/45 ACP convertible and a 10 mm/38-40 convertible.  I bought the 10 mm/38-40 as  a companion for my '73 Winchester in 38-40.  It was made in 1891.

I also have a Single Six convertible 22.
