Need help with changing stocks and Scope mounting
« on: October 04, 2005, 02:25:31 AM »
I just received two new barrels for my handi yesterday and a new high comb stock to help with sight alignment when shooting with a scope.
I have two questions.

1st = Do I need "extra high" rings to mount a scope.  Medium rings are way too short and it makes me nervous that high rings will be much better.  I don't want "see through" rings.

2nd = what size socket driver to I need to loosen the bolt inside the stock?  I got ready to do this work last night and realized I didn't own an extension that long.  I plan on going to the hardware store today and buy the necessary tool once I get some feedback on Graybeard's.

Thanks,

Jason

You need 9/16 socket & extension about 10 inches long,ether a
brake over wrench or racket to change stocks,
I use high all the time, some of the scopes I have can use Medium high
Rings, I have about 8 barrels with scopes, My old eyes are gone
as for using open sights just my 2 cents, Keep it safe Marv.
