Sounds like you're off to a good season. I'm still waiting for season to start here. Since i don't archery hunt or muzzleload hunt i have to wait till Thanksgiving for deer hunting. But there is alot of squirrels that are calling my name.

Jeff,
 CONGRATULATIONS on the early deer!!!
Was this your daughters first deer? Big thumbs up for bringing up the kids with hunting!! Teaching kids hunting early really instills values that will give them a good foundation to build upon.

We had a GREAT day last Sat as well!!

Here is a couple pics:

Thats me in the middle, the little bugger, on the left and bottom, went just over 90# the middle one was almost 140# and the bruser was over 200# He had nine points, 17" spread, 22" main beams and golf ball diameter bases. Our best off this piece of land!!

Nice deer longshot, and congrats Jeff with your daughter's hunt.  Also lucked out here in N.Oregon.  Got a huge 8 point with 18.5" spread.  That is my biggest so far, but I started hunting deer late in life.  I had to eat a few Elk before I could appreciate the taste of venison.....Now I don't understand it at all....Venison used to gross me out, I thought it tasted so gamey.  Now I think I like it better than Elk.  Go figure.
....make it count
