Ejector Question

I have a new Handi-Rifle in .223-- this is a standard model. I had a bull barrel model a few years back that I regrettably traded off. My question is this: My new standard model does not eject the shells out as crsiply as the bull barrel model did--- my new standard model ejects them out good enough, but the bull barrel model would eject them out clear over your shoulder, slinging them several feet away. Is it a coincidence they do not eject in a similar way, or do they put extra stout ejectors in the bull barrel varmint models? Also, is this something that will weaken with time? If so, my new rifle may have to go back for repairs, because I would not want it to weaken at all- it barely pleases me now. Any input would be appreciated.

All new barrels will eventually have mechanical extractors which only lift the spent case about ¼" out of the chamber, you must remove the case by hand or invert the rifle and let it drop out. This is by design to eliminate stuck brass. If yours ejects weakly, and is an ejector instead of an extractor, it may have a weak spring and needs to be fixed. You can't press an extractor in with the action open, an ejector can be pressed in.
