Ruger 77 trigger guard "tits"?
« on: October 07, 2005, 06:21:44 AM »
I'm not overly familiar with the Ruger 77, but recently picked up one of the tang safety variety.  It doesn't seem to me that the trigger guard fits up quite like it should.  What is the purpose of those two "tits" on the underside of the trigger guard?  Where should they be in relation to the trigger pivot pin?  Thanks

Guess I don't understand what you're asking. Just pulled one out to see if I could figure what you're referring to and I still can't. Nothing on it to even remotely fit your description. Sure sounds like it's not mated up properly or some one's messed with it. Can you be more definitive in the description or show us a photo?

I'm unsure of what you speak. Some rifles have a small bvump that hold the rear of the mag box. Is that what your speakling about. It's a fairly simple rifle with the main complecation being the angled screw and that's most related to restocking. Assembly is a straight forward task. More info please..

Thanks for your attempts.  My description of the issue was probably not very well explained.  I'll attempt to take a photo of it and try posting it again.  Thanks

Here is an exploded view of the Ruger M77 ...

The only think that comes close to resembling what you have described is the pivot point to the magazine release.  Other than that, I have no idea.

I've owned one for about 15 years and never had any trouble with it.
