I am interested in picking up a chamber adaptor for two of my rifles, a 308 Ishapore and a M48 8x57. I have the ability to cast bullets for these rifles and create reduced loads, it's just that sometimes I would like the convenience of being able to plink/practice with off-the-shelf ammo.
In my search I found two types of adaptors: The first is a typical conversion adaptor, making a smaller cartridge, with a bullet of the same size as the barrel, fit the chamber of a larger rifle. These adaptors can be seen at:
http://www.mcace.com/.
The second type uses the .22 blanks for power-actuated tools and fires a small lead projectile (ball) loaded into the front of the adaptor. These are sold at:
http://www3.telus.net/gamegetter/.
I am hoping to hear from people who have had experience with either of these types of chamber adaptors and what kind of success they have had.
Thanks,
Jim
