Best Value for NEF .17 Rifle?

First post here, so Howdy folks, nice forum here. I post on others, 1911, ARF, AK47.net, Glocktalk, but fatigue of the bickering.

I just attempted to buy a LNIB NEF .17HMR rifle off of Gunbroker, but someone snatched it before I could log on. Would have been $125 to my hands. So, now I'm looking for the best price on a NEF rifle.

On a rifle this inexpensive, the cost savings of a "No tax" out of state sale is more than washed away by the cost of shipping to my FFL ($15)/ transfer to me ($10).

So, who's got 'em for the best price? My local Wal Mart didn't have a listing for the .17HMR and I haven't called Academy Sports yet.

Walmart does indeed have them, they just have to know where to look.  They will be $129.00 last time I checked, but it is special order and could take some time.  I checked with them and then bought one off the shelf at a local gun shop for $139.00 and had it in my hands that day.  Larry

Welcome aboard!   Walmart won't show the 17hmr in the special order catalog cuz it's a normally stocked item, but most stores don't have them and if they do, sell them quickly. It sells for $130 here as does the 17M2. The number listed below was provided by a Walmart employee, have em order it for ya...

I called around and my local Wal Mart had the best overall deal. No 90 mi roundtrip to Oklahoma city, just pick up in a couple of weeks. $133 here + local tax.

I tinker with all of my firearms, if for nothing else than to better understand the inner workings. The NEF guns seem to be ideal for me :wink:
