I just tested a lube that Someone posted, and took a big box of wet news paper for recovering the bullets,
(by the way that lube workes better than mine.It stays for the whole length of the barrel.)
The mould was made by Tom Ballard of Montana. The length of the bullet was 1.451 long, and it tapers from .450-437at 550gr. The paper was 2 wrapes of 1.5 thousants of rag paper. The velocity was 1190 fps range was 200yds.The bullets recovered were.685 long and 1.012 wide in a perfect mushroomThe alloy was 30-1 lead tin.
The caliber was .45-70 with 70 gr 2f seated to an OVL. of 3.216" with a .035 wad and a 1/8"grease cooky.
5 shot groupe was 2- 1/2".I was satisfied  Lp.
