The 10/22 has been evolving over the last few years.

Longer stocks
Longer barrels
Losing the barrel band
Weaver Scope bases
Rubber butt pads
Sling swivels
The Walmart Special

Things like that

Whats the best scope for the buck, without breaking the bank? I just picked-up my 2nd 10/22 and want to keep it. The 1st one I traded off on a a deal too good to pass up. i've kicked myself ever since.

Did you get a free set of bino's or a spotting scope with them? Burris has a special deal going on right now with that scope. I know optics planet has it as does Natchez. My dad just bought the package from Natchez and loves his Burris.

The special offer is on this front page.

Yeah, I'm going to chime in on this... I love mine.  I have several.  Nothing fancy as they are all stock.  I have a couple with open sites, one with a scope and one with a cheap red dot scope on it.  I shoot all of them quite often.  As stated before by numerous other posters, they are fun to shoot, reliable, accurate, cheap to obtain and maintain, zillions of aftermarket parts are available, and they are pracitcal.  I use mine for shooting jackrabbits, feral cats, starlings, pigeons, raccoons, and other small game.  I love having the extra factory mags available or now the large-capacity aftermarket 25 round mags at my disposal.  I just like having the spare mags all loaded up and ready to go, as opposed to having to stop shooting and reload the tube magezine.
I love shooting mine and would have a hard time giving up any of my 10/22's.  (2cents' worth.)
Aim small, miss small.

I’m quite fond of mine.  I picked it up used about twenty years ago and it has seen the demise of many tree rats.  In my memory it has never jammed.  Great little gun
