Simmons 22mag 4x32 Scope
« on: May 14, 2006, 03:29:57 PM »
Hey, the new "master series" Simmons 22mag 4x32 scope has made the "short list" on the list of scopes for my Sportster 22 mag.  Does anyone have one or know someone that does?  It looks like the perfect rimfire scope for what I'm going to use it for.  Mainly squirrels with a few pop cans and some paper, (and any coyote that crosses my path   ).  Most of the shooting will be 50 yards and under, perfectly matched to the 50 yard parallax setting of the scope.

But I'm just wondering how the optics are, the durability, etc.  I haven't been able to find one I can handle so I'll likely be ordering one "blind".  So I'm hoping you guys can help me out.  :D

Scruffy

I had an older Simmons 4x on my 22 mag sportster for over a year with no problems at all , but i have started to shoot the mag at 100 yards and it has been replaced with a bushnell 3x9 .

I liked the scope well enough that my 22LR barrel now wears it and am very pleased . if your looking for a 50 yard scope , you can't go wrong with the simmons .

I have an older Simmons 22mag 4X32 on my Ruger 10-22 squirrel/paper/plinker gun.   Fully coated, bright optics. It never losses it's zero.  If the new ones are as good as my 7+ year old one you should be well satisfied.

Thanks for the input!  That's just what I needed to know.  I'll be ordering one for it soon (father's day?) and get plenty of plinking time in before squirrel season opens here in the fall.  :P

More good news Scruffy.  I just got the latest issue of American Rifleman and the new Simmons Master Series .22Mag scope was awarded their "Golden Bullseye" award in the rim-fire optics category.

Recently purchased this scope and with Millet See Through mounts I mounted it on a 22mag Savage.  Kids love it and I must say it is very clear and we really like the quick eye piece.  My old eyes like it way out and the kids like it way in.  Think it came from Natchez sports.  Think you will like this one......l

I have 2 of them.  One on a Ruger 10/22 and another one on a Winchester 9422.  (They are now on sale at Bass Pro Shops/Outdoor World.....1/2 off MSRP @ $19.95 thru May 30th.)  Excellent performance from both of them.  By the way, that price includes rings, free mounting, and boresighting.
