After much reflection, and after considering the now somewhat extensive line-up of calibers available in the handi rifle, I feel I have arrived at the finalist as the next completely necessary caliber....I wish they had never dropped the 7x57 Mauser, and 35 Whelen, and the 7.62x54 Russian is long overdue given all the excellent surplus and new commercial loading available at ultra cheap prices and the fact that as a medium bore rimmed round it is taylor made for the handi.....However, the 303 British gets the nod as the next necessary....it is rimmed, is tapered for easy extraction, is a medium bore, has good killing power, ammo is available from nine million sources and it fits in between the varmit rounds, high pressure rounds and the 45-70.....and yes, I was a marketing major in college....fat load of good it ever did me, i drive a truck!....oh well, I love my guns!
