Lee Cross-key slugs

Has anyone tried these in a Tracker? Lee sells the mold for about $20. The slug fits in the standard wad, which acts as a sort of sabot.

I read a magazine article a couple of years ago about them. The guy bought skeet / target rounds by the box. He opened the shells, poured the shot in his lead pot, cast the slugs with that lead, and reloaded the shells with the new slug. He used the original wad and powder load. He said they shot well, and he got a box of 25 for less than $5.

I'm wondering how the standard wads would hold up in a rifled Tracker barrel. If it worked, it would be a great way to go for reasonably priced slugs.

I have that mold and will cast some but don't yet have the tracker to go with it.  Looking at Christmas maybe... or after taxes get processed. I will get back with you when I get all of my Stuff together and shooting/testing.
