Major 445SM Problems
« on: October 18, 2005, 01:21:49 AM »
Went out to dads to shoot the 445SM along with several other rifles.
Well when it came time to shoot the 445 dad wanted to step up to the bench and shoot it.
Couldn’t talk him into doing the bench work for the 460WBY maybe next time    ya right.

Well needless to say I gave him the rifle and that was the last time I got to touch it.
This rifle is way to much fun to shoot and I can’t even get a chance to shoot it  :-) .

This isn’t a bad thing but I figured you old farts would get a kick out this.

I’m giving it serious thought on buying him one for Christmas.

I wonder if Jeff223 would send me the reamer again

Old, now that's funny. :-D  You can bet if I were your Dad (and yes I'm old enough to be) I'd love to get one for Christmas. :D You may not get the Super back, so you may want to hint around for him to get you one for Christmas.  8)

Thats what happens when you get a gun with lots of punch and not much recoil. I still believe its the perfect beginners gun, starting out with the 44 mag and then moving on to the 445 sm. It's so close to the 444 its not even funny in the power part of it and it certainly has enough for just about anything.  :-)  :-)  :-)  The 445 looks to be a winning combo. Digger

What Digger said   I don't have a 445 SM, but I do have it's ballistic twin, the 38-55. More precisely, the 38-55 loaded using 375 Winchester cases and data. I can't imagine a need for anything hotter than a 265 grain bullet at 1900 fps. Many may naysay, but I doubt that anything on the NA continent will stand up to a chest full of that, and there ain't a Virginia Whitetail anywhere that won't kill.

It's a good problem to have.

I'm looking for a receiver now to send it off of to get a 44 barrel fitted to it.
