Drillimgman,

you know I am looking for a Drilling... :o  BUT I could be swayed to purchase a Classic Valmet and move away from those Russian guns.  So where is the gun  ;) and feel free to PM me the price.  :P

Drilling,
I found a Tikka 12/222 for a resonable price $800-900 but I just dont know.  That Spartan 12/223 for $400-$500 is tough to beat...

Byron,
its not about the money its about the value and finding what will work for my application.  For a drilling I want a 16 ga and modern mainstream caliber.  I dont see the value in spending $6k on a Krieghoff drilling in 16x16/243.  I do see the value in spending $3.4k on a Sempert Krieghoff in 16x16/8x57.  However so do others as that gun was swooped up in minutes upon being available.

My other option is a combo (I will use my 16ga SBS for bird hunting and keep this for turkey predator, varmit.  The combo should be 12ga/(222, 223, 243).  I have not been able to find a Valmet in 12/.222 but have found a Valmet Shooter pack (12/12, 12/222, 308/308) that I am looking at or a Spartan in 12/223.

We will see what happens.

Added- I did not buy the Valmet Shooter pack as I use SxS shotguns for field hunting (I dont shoot sporting clays any more hence no need for an O/U), I have standardized on the 30-06 as my medium game gun (I dont have any 308 ammo) so I rationalized I would be spending $1600 for a turkey/predator gun when I cold buy a Spartan for $500.  So I am going with the Spartan in 12/223 plus I have the rifled and turkey chokes...
