Trouble with VXII scope
« on: March 03, 2003, 07:18:27 AM »
Have a 3-9 VXII...adjustment ring for the power is EXTREMELY difficult to turn...hurts my fingers.

Any ideas short of shipping it to Leupold?
Be honest with yourself.  Can you guarantee you would hit a paper plate at 250 yards...100 yards...50 yards?  Then you have no business replacing the plate with a live animal.

Exchange it for another one.  Other than that, there is nothing that you can do.  I have a Nikon Monarch with the same problem, although it's not that difficult.  I worked it back and forth 100 times and it was still the same way. :?  I wouldn't do anything else because it might void the warranty.

VXII power ring

Guess what...just got an e-mail back from Leupold answering this question.  They said...

...power-selector can "bind-up" if the rear mounting ring is too tight.  I recommend removing the rear ring-top (leave the front ring attached to avoid needing to sight-in again) and trying to turn the power selector.  If it turns easily, you can just re-attach the rear ring-top with less tension - we recommend 15 lbs/INCH.

Maybe this will help you to Zachary...I am going to try this tonight.

Rimfire,

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to try to do this tonight too.
