Hows the preponderance?
Looks heavy at the front.
On a couple that I have built, I had to re-cut 1/8" off all the muzzle diameters. to make the breach heavy.
That's always guess work for me exactly where to put them (especially on a pattern).
John Muler says in his "A Treatise of Artillery" the trunnions should be 3/7 the distance from the breach to the muzzle.
If I remember right, civil was guns required 10% weight on the elevation screw and the trunnions a tad below center so on fireing, the recoil pushed the barrel down, not up.
