What's a PCP sporter?

It’s a precharged gun, not a Springer. A lot of us spent thousands of $ on the Walther LG 300 Hunter when the rules changed last year. But the traditional springer gun shooters felt they were now at a disadvantage, so have been trying to get the rule reversed. But this side of the country a lot of people were shooting tuned Springer's anyway; this made them illegal in sporter class.

In some cases it's not as dramatic of a jump from the Springer to the PCP rifle than rifles such as the 300 Hunter.

Look at the stocks, they are the same for all practical purposes. Only difference is the firing mech. 400 are pre-charged, 200 are springers. They even have the same triggers. Many Women and children could not come close to shooting a springer like the 200. I personally think they are dangerous. If you disagree with that ask the guys w/ a 200 why they keep ahold of the cocking arm while loading....They don't want to loose a finger incase the "bear trap" saftey fails! LOL. Who wants to shoot something with a "Bear Trap" on/in it? One the other hand I have seen Women that have never shot an airrifle take to it like a duck to water with a PCP.

Now granted I'm not saying anything about ANY other rifles (*cough* the walther *cough*) but if you can't look at the 400 and see that it's a "hunting" rifle and in a totally different class than the EV2's, Dominators, Styers, Anschutz, etc. Well....There may be more to your arguement than logic. IMOHO.
