Anyone here use these in a Handi? Any Chrony results? Anyone shoot any animals with them? How do they perform?

several years ago some S&B's were giving me poor accuracy. i pulled TWO bullets and found the cannelures on them in different spots!!!!

their bullets were from different lots of production even though put together in commonly-labelled 'lots' of assembled ammunition.

i wouldn't buy an S & B, or Wolf box of 'commie' ammo on a bet!

I think the reason most people don't use S&B is because it doesn't seem to be very high quality brass for reloading.

I agree with both above, I only used one box of 22 Horn.
Would not group Then tried re load. prime holes to small
for small primer punch. I'll NEVER Buy another box,

My only experience with S&B was some 12G slugs I bought several years from Cabalas. They would not cycle in my 11-87 although they did seem to be fairly accurate. Most of them are still setting on a shelf in my basement. I need to take them out and shoot them in the old Mossberg 500 just to be rid of them.

I hear ya on the hornet S&B got some 22 hornet in a trade. Didn't group well & broke a de caping pin :evil:

Was really hoping on some information on the 357 Magnum Soft Point loading they offer. I hate to try them out on a deer if someone has a bad experience.

Any ideas?

They list it at around 158gr SP 1,394fps 683 lbs muzzle energy. I would say on deer at reasonable range it will do good if it shoots for you. Don't know what they used for the data, I would assume a short pistol type barrel. I would think you would get something higher. I have been told to use the soft point ammo in pistol type loads for hunting anyway. Most hollow points are made for very rapid expansion, personal defense.

Just make a good shot, don't force it. I know how hard it is to pass on a deer because of your gun. Used a 44 Mag for a few years, saw some nice deer, but couldn't get a good shot at them.

You might want to post in the Handgun Hunting Forum, sure someone will give you some feed back on them if anyone used them.

Ammunition is the cheapest part of a hunt.
Do you really want to trust a hunt on using cheap ammo ?
I'd personally rather see someone using a beat-up piece-of-junk rifle with good ammo than a great rifle fed the cheapest trash around.
Don't skimp here for hunting....paper punchin' is different.
Use quality premium ammo from a REPUTABLE (i.e. Rem, Win, Fed, Wby, Norma) manufacturer or handload for hunting.
Losing a trophy (or a meal) just isn't worth trusting cheap ammo.

I have never had any luck with any of their products...rifle-pistol,or shotgun...and have experianced more failures using their products than anyones elses as well...so my advice is to use something else...
