sighting in a Marlin Model 60
« on: November 28, 2005, 07:08:38 AM »
Hi:

Should a Marlin Model 60 be sighted in for 50, 75 or 100 yards? This would be for Fox hunting in a pasture.  Shots would be under 100 yards.

Thanks,

Two things:
1.  I sight my model 60 rifles in at 75 yds using 4 power scopes.
2.  I consider the .22 rimfire too wimpy a round for foxes.  You are likely to wound more than you kill unless you are a exceptional shot which you may well be.  I would consider the .22 Mag a minumum for fox hunting.  A .223 would be a better place to start IMHO.

I agree Charles.  I think that is centerfire country.

Fox's aside most folks consider 50 yards zero for rimfires.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
