i was stalking a group of pigs along a creek bed when this orange colored pig  poked its head out from 20 yards i turned my Hawg light on and my lighted fiberoptic sight on and hit him right between the eyes dropped in his tracks  my bow is a PSE Bruin w/ rimfire cam carbon express wolverine arrows with a whisker buisquit trufire release and muzzy 3 blade 100 gr heads http://hunt101.com/img/334659jpg

I shot him in Mansfield  a lady from work told me about some pigs running wild around the city and she showed me along the creekbed where the pigs come out  so i went to the creek  and spread some corn around  and still hunted with my bow for them.  come to find out these pigs  have been visiting peoples yards  and swimming pools  its kind of crazy hunting pigs so close to town but they are definately wild pigs  i went in scent free and camoed  with my bow  as i dont think you can shoot a gun near town.  ill be going back over in a day or two to walk the creek bank  im still not sure where they are coming from  someone said from 10 mile creek there are niot any farms aroubnd there so i am stumped  they had som e pretty good size ones 150 lb range but i couldnt get within bow range of them  i seen probally about 30 hogs

There are lots of wild hogs right around Houston.   You can see the hog traps on several golf courses and there are articles in the paper occassionally.    
I have seen several hit by cars near my house.   Wish I had a place to bowhunt near the house.    Especially with some hogs that are more accustomed to human activity and smell.   The hogs at our ranches are much, much more hard to hunt than deer.

Ever heard of the Pickle Farm that is on the west side of Mansfield, I think off of Debbie Lane.....My brother-in-law had leased the land for his cattle a couple of years ago and I had been out fishing one of the big stock tanks a couple of times.  There were deer and turkey out there, and I'm sure there might have been hogs, but never gave it much thought since it was so close to town.  

I work up in Bedford for the police department and a buddy of mine that works with me and on loan to a task force, said he went over to Hurst two weeks ago because pigs were coming up from the Trinity River into yards and rooting around.  Animal Control dosen't know what to do and they are tyring to work out some bowhunting.....

  im in bedford too ,i believe those may be the same hogs i posted about back behind bell helicopter and over near the river trails area. Keep me posted if i can get in on that i will start bow hunting them!
