Barrel material
« on: March 06, 2003, 03:53:18 AM »
While picking up some stock at my local steel supplier I found a piece of seamless tubing 32 inches long with inside diameter of 2.600 and wall thickness of .512.  If I plan to make a cannon with this piece should I use the whole 32 inches or could I make an 8 inch mortar and a 24 inch cannon barrel.  Any suggestions?

Yes of course build both. You can never have enough cannons!!!

Put in some threaded and pinned breech plugs, add trunions, build carriage, add a pinch of black powder, bake at 350 dgrees for....wait cannons not cookies!
