WRF ?

WRF in a WRFM is no problem but keep in mind it is no where near
as powerful thus point of aim/impact is very different.
The WRF does not seem to be as accurate either, It isn't bad
but not great either. I have used the Winchester and the CCI
WRF. The CCI loads a pretty nice JHP bullet that expands quite well.

WRF Tested
« Reply #3 on: November 06, 2005, 05:06:38 AM »
I performed a wet paper test, with both rounds.  The results are on RFC, in the 22 Magnum Ammo section. --- I haven't yet tested them for accuracy, but plan to this week.  They aren't as powerful as the WMR, but power isn't everything.   Their nowhere near as loud either.  I enjoy using the old cartridges.   Love the nostalgia!

WRF groups/Ruger 96M
« Reply #4 on: November 07, 2005, 08:02:06 AM »
I couldn't go to the range and use a bench, so the groups were fired with me sitting, bracing against the side of an open door. I only shot 1 (3)shot group with each (CCI & Win). With 15 mph cross winds, @ 50yrds. the CCI's group was measured at 1 1/16". The Winchester at 1 13/16". No doubt in my mind, on sandbags, I'm @ 3/4" w/CCI and inside 1 1/4" with Win. Again, I only shot 1 group each. Scope setting was on 4X for both groups.

I'm sorry I thought I mentioned it.  It's a Ruger 96M.  It cycles the CCI round flawlessly.  The Winny had one hang-up, due to it's flat nose.  The last round won't cycle with either, unless I load a WMR round first, into the rotary mag.  I've heard another way is to change the tension on the rot. mag.
