Too quote another here, "Life is funny but strange things happen".
Survival--What is survival. When does it happen.
Does survival begin every morning when one gets out of bed?
Survival is thinking ahead, as much as making sure you have cash or a card on you when you an the Hen go out to eat.
When does survival happen? It happens every waking moment of your life. It is the normal way you go about the daily life that we all take for granted but are prepared for whether we think about it in that sense or not.
Those folks who walk around in a cloud are survivors to some extent, whether or not they actually know it or not.
Look at your own life. You have developed some survival skills without even thinking about it.
Now, as you are already thinking, that is not what this forum is all about. It is what to do IN CASE.
I would argue that survival is, to use a worn out phrase, being prepared. Being prepared every day. Planning ahead rather than letting life happen and adjusting as it comes at you.
I never get in my truck without it being loaded with a number of things, including the extra pack of cigs  , before I get in it. The same as in the Hens vehicle, though it is amazing there is any space in it for anything else most of the time.
If I am doing one of my usual day trips I have all kinds of things in the truck before I leave. these things live there, much as my insurance information and such do. I don't go looking for my insurance card every time the Hen sends me to the store.
Put those things you know you will need in the truck, car, SUV or whatever and let them live there. These things will vary from different parts of the country so a list will be different for everybody.
