Any hog hunting in KY?
« on: January 14, 2006, 07:44:47 AM »
I will be moving to KY in the spring of 2006.will probaly end up in the south central area. I enjoy hunting hogs with a bow or gun. I would like to know if there are huntable numbers of wild hogs anywhere in the state, I know I will be happy if I dont have to go to far to go hunting. Thanks in advance for any responce, general information is all I am seeking.  Thanks D.C.

Big south Fork National Park.....is in Tennessee and Kentucky and is rumored to be loaded with hogs.  The season runs with the deer season in Tennessee, and there is a special season from Jan 16 thur the end of Feb.......

Not sure what the season is in Ky......

Just do a search on Big South Fork.....plenty of info there.....

The big south fork region in mccreary county is probably our best population. Several other counties have populations also but not as good as BSF. Since BSF is run by the national park service their regs are a little different. All season are same as KY's regular season with the exception of hogs. You can hunt hogs during all the big game seasons plus a extended hog season from Jan, thru Feb. Just a hunting license and a 5.00 permit is all you need.
