One Talo for each hand!
« on: February 09, 2011, 01:36:35 PM »
My 45-70 Talo Trapper arrived today after getting the barrel fit at the factory.  It went out on the 14th of January.  Not too bad of a turn-around!

I wasn't real pleased with the amount of "handling marks" on the stock.

Neither the .357 or the 45-70 has been to the range yet.  They're calling for snow again tonight.  This isn't supposed to happen in Alabama!

thanks,
-Kyle

Boy I know the feeling. I've got a 30-30 Handi I'm dying to try out also. Seems everytime you turn around it's snowing in Oklahoma. >:(

kng, I sent the snow your way. I'm looking at about 9 inches here in Batesville, AR. I'm tired of playing with it and am ready to share!

Very lovely little rifles....enjoy.

We had a low this morning of 0.5 and now it's up to a scorching 1.8.  But.....we only have about 4 inches of snow on the ground....we sent it all down to you rebels. ;D  Seriously, the weather is goofed up.  I've had my Maxi sitting here ready for fine tuning for weeks now.  It's either blowing with light lake effect snow or too cold.  I'm afraid, with a soft load, a bullet could freeze in the barrel ::) ::)

Don't let a little snow stop you. I heard the east coast had 20 inches of snow and it shut the whole works down. My buddy in Jackson Wy. sent me a note to say one ridge over from him they have 178" of snow this season. He says 20" is just a good start. It's all in the perspective. If it's snowing or windy I don't shoot. If not I'm out there. ::)

kng, sorry to hear the factory beat up your stock set. Nice pic, thanks for sharing.

Yea, I was real surprised.  This is the first time I've ever sent anything in, and I certainly didn't expect this.  I'll be sure to note it on the "How are we doing card" they sent.

You just gotta call them on it, that aint right! If they are not held responsible for it how are they going to learn?

I love the length of the Trappers! I picked up all three, over time, and also have the BC Carbine and a chopped 16.5" barreled .50S&W. The shorter barrels just make them that much Handier and makes a lot of sense in the calibers they are offered. My latest is the .44 mag. and I put a synthetic stock on that one.
