Most relaxing and enjoyable ammo to reload?

What's your "comfort" ammo to reload. When I'm overdue for an extended session at the bench and just want to relax and enjoy some reloading, I like the 38 special wadcutters!  No progressive presses, no bottleneck cases, no case lube. Just a good relaxing time.

.223 is mine; I have a ton of brass, and can get all kinds of bullets, just depends on my mood. Plus, .223 doesn't use much powder -- I get over 200 loads from a can of Varget.

At this time I don't use a press for it; I use the Lee Loaders for .223 and .30-06. They only neck size, so it's no hard to get them in the die. I do use .357 in a press, just haven't bought dies for the other calibers yet. And I can get a LOT of loads from a can of Unique for the .357  8)

.221 Fireball....its easy to do, relatively quick, minimal sizing/lube and the finished product is very accurate.

I like 9mm or .45ACP. Both load quick and easy.

Been reloading ammo for around 40 years. Can't say I ever found it enjoyable, just something I needed to do if I wanted to shoot a lot. The enjoyment always came when I fired it not when I made it.

When I'm in the mood to do some reloading, I find either the 45 ACP or the 38 Special to suit that bill.  The 38 Special, because it brings back memories of when I first started shooting, and first started reloading.

The 45 is just plain fun to assemble, and I always thought it was the perfect combination of size, power, and low-end pressure for a semi-auto.

22 long rifle.

I find that reloading the clips for my Ruger 10/22s and then emptying them is just about the most relaxing reloading you can do.  Plus you don't have to worry about policing the brass!

I still get great joy out of reloading my 460WBY.
Huge cases, large bullets, extremely large amounts of powder.
I still get a BIG smile on my face when I cycle the RCBS powder dropper and watch the powder drop ¼” each pull :-D  :-D

Think when I get off of work tonight I'll go load some up sounds like fun :)

I agree with Graybeard, it is never relaxing. I relax more when I am shooting them.  :-D

I think that an evening or two spent making up some 6.5x55 or 7x57 loads for deer hunting is time well spent and enjoyable. Then, as GB pointed out, it only gets better in the woods. 8)

anything I can neck size only for, I absolutely hate applying and removing the case lube.  I think this is the only step in loading I dont enjoy.

The most relaxing "reloading" I do is when I take one of my muzzle loaders to the range and have to "reload" for every shot.  It really slows me down and I find it very relaxing.

Hello,
Regardless of the caliber, processing brass is a pain in the brass.
The easiesst cartridge to reload for,is the 30/40 Krag.

I just plain like reloading.  Always for rifle a/c never figured it was worth it for anything else.  Granted the case lube removal is not fun, although I just throw it in the tumbler.  The other part I dont care for is getting the brass out of the media and ckng all the primer holes.  But other than that I like it all.

I enjoy reloading in general.  Most of the time I am not loading a big volume at any one time.  I get the most enjoyment out of putting together the hunt loads for the current year, but I also enjoy working up a new load and shooting the first three to see if there is any promise in the resulting product.  I'm not a high volume shooter, mostly plunk three at a piece of paper two or three times a week.
If I can make it go bang it can't be that hard to do.

I enjoy the loading process itself. Obviously I don’t have a life! It gives me something to do on the evenings when there is nothing to watch on the History Channel.  My favorite cartridge to load is the 44 mag. for either my Deerfield or my Handi.  It is straightforward cartridge to load and the brass seems to last forever without stretching or cracking.  On the other hand I would almost rather take a beating than reload .223s.  My clumsy old hands seem to fumble around and drop too many of those tiny little bullets.

Am in agreement that shooting them off and loading the magazine is the most enjoyable but since it ain't possible for me to be doing that 24/7 or make a living at the range, I do enjoy turning out 223 rounds for my Savage 12FV. Not as good as being at the range but being able to load my own is not a bad consolation prize either when it can be done in a "leisurely" fashion.

The most relaxing loading for me is rifle cartridges using compressed loads of slow burning powders. The possibility of throwing an overload is remote as you can easily check your loads visually in the loading block. The least relaxing loading is pistol cartridges using Bullseye or a similar type powder because there is more danger of overloads. I don't like being interrupted while I'm handloading so I try to do it when I know it will be quiet.

I enjoy reloading.  Always have for the 43+ years I’ve been doing it.  Sitting at my bench de-priming/priming cases, sizing cases, checking powder charges, etc. I find very relaxing.  I enjoy reload all cartridges but if I had to pick just one it would be the .22 Hornet.  It’s the one rifle cartridge I go through the most.  Lawdog
