Remington vs Winchester
« on: November 12, 2005, 02:23:39 PM »
Hello, I have a question regarding the strenth of new brass.  Who makes the best virgin brass Remington or Winchester.  I was looking in a midway catalog and the prices are similar.  The Norma brass  sounds good till you see the price.  Would the Norma brass outlast the other two making its' price more attractive.                                                 Joe.

Remington seems very "soft" to me. I have used both in the past. I do not really have a preferance between the two.

Federal is my favorite, mostly because I only buy it in 45-70 and 45 COLT!! I believe it to be a bit stronger in 45colt, the web area is slightly thicker if you measure the cases volume.

Does Federal sell virgin brass for reloader?  I use it for my 44mag, but the brass came from factory ammo.
