just got my sidekicks today,and there are three small screw ontop of the barrel near the breech are I am I supposed to take those out and mount my scope base to that?? :(

Yes -Thats what they are there for.
 
It's too bad you couldn't get the  scope mount and offset hammer spur from NEF, the offset hammer  spur  is great with a scope. I  even leave the  spur on even when using open sights. And the price from NEF is fair.

Call up H&R/NEF and get the scope base from them and hammer spur both work great
