I know what you mean about the NEF board. I post there sometimes and I have seen the problem first hand. Welcome to GrayBeards! You will find the Marshal Graybeard runs a smooth operation and the other stuff that you put up with over there won't happen here.
I found my .243 to be rather long throated. 100 grain Remingtons shot arount 2-3" at 100 if I remember correctly. When I moved to a place where I could reload I bought some 90 grain Noslers and loaded them out to within .030 of the rifling. This brought the groups down quite a bit. Can't remember how much smaller but it made me happier. I still have to get the trigger re-done and am planning on sending it in to purchase 2 more barrels. One a .44 and a 30/30. The .44 will become a .445.
