I see that Remington offeres a fully rifled barrel for the 870 with a scope already mounted and bore sighted for the same price roughly as the barrel with the scope mount but no scope. Has anyone seen what scope is on the barrel or had any experience? Thanks, MIKE.

I haven't seen that one. I like the cantilver set up on mine. It allows me to switch from deer to turkeys, small game and home defense. The reutrn to zero when switching back to rifled barrel has been great.

I looked into the Remington package for my 870 SuperMag but decided on the Mossberg setup (24 inch barrel) for $169 with a little better scope 3x9 instead of 2x7 (bushnell). http://www.tjgeneralstore.com/moss-bbl.htm
I was really suprised at the range with Hornady SST slugs. This is a deadly 200 yd 50 cal gun now. I bought a like new 20 inch Remington iron sighted rifled slug barrel (for Hevi-shot sabots) with the money I saved.

Saw one today in a local shop. Looks like a pretty good setup but it's hard to judge with the plastic over em. I forgot to look at the price cause at the moment I don't have an 870.
I did however see my next slug gun. They have a used 870 with the thumbhole gray laminate stock and flat forend with a scope for a very reasonable price. My better half was with me so I couldn't sneak it on layaway but I will next week if it's still there.
