How to cook a small choat- Advice??

My dad shot a small (about 20 lbs) pig and we left it whole when cleaning.  I thought we would cook it that way on the Ol Smokey during our upcoming gun season. Any advice.

We've been doing a lot of drunk chickens on that pit and thought about laying the pig split side down over a pan of beer all seasoned up and trying it in that manner, but I am definately open to suggestions.

My wife shot a 35 pounder a couple of years ago and I slow smoked it in a Brinkman smoker. It was falling off the bone good! Best pork I ever ate. :D

Split him in half right down the middle. Put both halves on a slow, hot fire. Sprinkle them lightly with seasoned salt and then sop them down with this mixture:

1. juice drained from one can of pineapple slices
2. juice drained from one jar of olives
3. 1/2 cup white wine
4. 1/2 cup vinegar
5. 1/2 cup brown sugar
6. 1/2 cup of your favorite commercial BBQ sauce

Turn them when bottom side gets good and brown and sop them well again. Make sure some of the sauce drips down into the coals of the fire.

Enjoy! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

I'm gettin' ready to spilt a ham off of a boar I shot last spring.  Each half is about the size of what you're probably gonna get of'n that choat.   :)

I'm going to try a couple of recipes that I've got from different fellas in this forum and others.

The first half I'm gonna marinate with some table mustard and then I'll put on a good dry rub.  a fella told me about this and I can't tell you why, but to me it just sounds good.

The second one I'm planning on doing in a fashion pretty close to what Mr. Brushbuck describes, except I was going to marinate it in pineapple juice for a day (tenderizing) and then lay on the sauce/glaze while it's cooking.

These are my favorite kinds of experiments...
