Firing pin only dents primer
« on: November 01, 2005, 03:13:06 PM »
I have an old T/C 44 mag. bbl. 10 in. 6 groves.
If I close bbl with care.not slam it shut, the pin only dents the primer. If I close it hard all is OK.  This is not good for the scope. Anybody know how to fix this problem?

Your locking lugs are not kicking the butterfly.  You have locking lugs that are likly too thick.  It this is an old barrel with single lug, and new frame, you will have to change that lug for reliable ignition.   You can measure the thickness of the locking lugs, call TC and describe your problem, and they may send you a set of new locking lugs for free.  Takes less than 5 minutes to replace, unless you let the spring fly away when you remove the old lug.

Good luck, and if slamming hurts the scope, get a different scope.
