22 mag is a totaly diffrent ball game.. Pretty much 2X the velocity and eneryg and 5 x the price. The 22 mag is a great shooter and ammo is manafacutred to a higher tolerence than low cost 22 lr. you will become additicated. There is a great deal of info on the net available. just google 22 magnum and settle down for some good reading. The 22 magnum has rebounded in popularity and there are many loads available. Everyone is all worked up about the .17 hmr. which is based on the 22 magnum case.. But I beleive the magnume is better in the energy catagory. most people zero at 125 yards or so , and the thing will smoke ground hos fro 10 to 150 yards or more. Have fun.
