Tell me about the Rem mod 78

  I posted this up in the bolt action forum before scrolling down to the Rem Forum. I found a nice clean Rem mod 78 at a local shop chambered in .243 win. Its probably rated at 98%. I don't know anything about this model. Can anyone give me some information and pros and cons on this rifle? What kind of accuracy to expect.

It was a cheep econo to the rem 700 back in the day like the win 670 and the savage 340
My gunsmith has built 2 custom rigs for guys on them and they wanted the rem 78 sportsman taken off the reciever , just a reciever with the ser, # only .
To me i have no clue if i could find one at a bargin you would bet i would buy it its the same and is a 700 all the parts swap its just a entree set-up in the day

It is a 700 the only thing that is different  the stock i had one and sold it i'm still kicking myself if you don't get it let me know were its at i may buy it.

My friend has been hunting with one in .30-06 for years.  Like the 700, they're pretty much as good as it gets.
