Can someone tell about this crud ring everyone talks about. I have a Omega and I shoot 150gr 777 using 300gr shockwaves and 295 power belts. I do not have a problem loading the shockwaves although they are harder to load then the power belts I still can load them not problem. I have not noticed any crud ring unless I' going blind. My groups usually run about an 1" at 50yards 1-1/2 at 100.

I suggest you do a search, there is a lot of info here about it.

I believe it also depends on the type of lube you use. Petrol based will leave the ring if you don't get all of it wiped put real well.

It seems to be rifle specific; some make it some don't. My Omega is a prime example of one that makes it real bad. I feel fortunate for those that can use 777 as it is more available than others like APP, Pinnacle, and Black Mag'3 although those last three are ascorbic acid based and in a slightly different catagory. I like the lack of fouling of the ascorbic acid based powders and the lack of corrosion on steel. They also seem to have gained in consistency especially in the fff grade (which is why I believe Black Mag'3 is only available as fff). It works just great in my Omega.
