stocks for bc?? edited
« on: October 29, 2005, 02:47:04 AM »
i have a bc that i put a set of cinnamon laminated ultra stocks on
i put a simmons scope on it but now i want to go back to using ladder/tang sights on it
i am probably gonna put a smith ladder sight on the barrel but i dont think i can get down on it low enough with the monte carlo stock to see thru the sights
my question is, can i get a cinnamon laminated pistol grip stock that isnt monte carlo??? and if so will it let me hunker down on it low enough to see thru my sights??
i really really like the way the pistol grip stocks look on the gun and dont want to change it. i also really like the look of the cinnamon laminate
so yall help me out on this
if someone has a cinnamon laminated pistol grip non monte carlo style stock i would be willing to trade them for mine
or buy theirs straight out
thanks

The straight grip is available in 2 flavors, camo lam part #R01155 butt, and #R01182 forend, and cinn lam part #R00565 butt, and #R02332 forend. They have also made them in red laminate, but those are no longer available from them. I don't have the current cost, it was $81 + shpg last year, but I think they're about $103 shipped, now. When ya call em, be sure to ask for checkered stocks if they have em, cuz they have had both in the past!!

Yup, thats what I remember, about 100 bucks!!  Like I said, I have had them for some time just waiting for my 500 to arrive!!

I am going to order a set of the camo high comb stocks shortly. My 45-70 / 357 Maxi HANDI have pallet wood stocks and desperately NEED better looking wood!!! I have this on a 30-06 and like the look, all the rest of my lam stocks are the cinnamon variety.

If you had cought me before the rifle arrived and I fit a pad to it I might have!! But this stock actually fits this handi very well. My face lines up nicely with the scope, even with out the higher comb!

The laminated stock I will be ordering will be a high comb for my 45-70 / 357 Maxi handi.

I have seen that red version!! Its actually very nice!! When you first mentioned it I sai to my self, yuck!! But Its very tastful!!

Have you seen the Royal Jacaranda stock. Its also very nice, although straight gripped, here is a link:

http://www.rsrgroup.com/opnexcllgnewe.php

I need to check into this combo...dont have a handi in 243 OR 20 ga!!!!

you have something extremely rare in deed
the stock you have on the rifle in the above pic has never been made!!!
i talked to two ppl at nef and both swore on a stack of bibles that stock you have doesnt exist and never has existed
its like bigfoot
hang onto it for dear life as it is truely one of kind
i would love to know the part number to that buttstock
if i had it i would probably take a trip to nef and have a long talk with those ppl
anyways im down to planning to alter my stock to try to achieve a bigfoot stock like you have
i know, you altered that pic thats it
you airbrushed it to intimidate me right??
ok anyways great guns but service seems lacking

They were indeed made, Mac sold a set of the red straight stock sets earlier this year, before he sold the camo lam set, I'd a bought em if I needed a straight stock set, but didn't , shoulda, I guess!!! I'm sure he has pics of it.

From YEARS in the industry, I do have some connections, but did not realize this was anything fancy. As I said, I paid reg price for them, I just did not get them thru reg channels. I just made a call to a certain guy I know, he said to send the money to so and so at NEF and a week later my stocks where here. Wish I could help more....If I get a chance, I'll call him and see what he did for me and if he can provide a part number for you to order a set for your self. I gotta look for a set of those red stocks!!!

OR, I may just have to but the entire combo rifle they come on!!!

I do not have a straight stock on any of my rifles. I think I have an old one floating around from a shotgun........

I have long prefered these to the pistol grips on my shotguns and Leveractions!! Wonder how they would be on something like a 30-30 with peeps???

Sureshot...save yourself some trouble and just buy a Morgan ajustable recoil pad...they make 2 styles...1 curved...the other shotgun style...and only the aluminum plate has to be filed down...I'm pretty sure they will fit the newer Handis...and I do know they fit the older Toppers...I fit one onto my old Topper 30-30 back in 1980....http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=000495..you can adjust the stock down some to fit you without ruining it...and...it's a whole lot cheaper than buying a new set...

The stocks your wanting are around....and your not the only one who wants a set of them...Like2hunt needs a set too for his shooting style...but...with the morgan pads...you can have your cake and eat it too...just got to figure out a way to fit a Limbsaver to it...

MSP...I do believe your correct...and the problem is in the forearm...the channel is opened enough for those exceptionally large barrels...When I got my first 12 ga.Ultra Slug Hunter...those were the type stocks I had on it...and had to use a leather cheek piece for it...
