Ok Guns coming now what?????

I got my stainless side kick coming with the 26" barrel now what do I need to get, I am picking up a scope next week, what do I need in terms of Accessories, what primers to use? powder etc?, and what loads should I start out with, I am gonna be setting up the two rifles I got, mine and my dads 26" sidekick wood version..any info would be great.. we are gonna be using our rifle in december where its well below freezing if that will help determine what loads and powders to use..

about any thing shoots good out of these guns.....i use only pryo loose......others to expensive.<ok im to tight> i shoot 100 gr.with hornady 240 gr.429 dia xtp bullet with hornady green sabots......i buy in 50 packs of sabots and 100 bullets at time......i have shot 90 gr. rs pryo with tc bullets shot real good,but dont expand.....lee target bullets shoot good but only to 80 gr... after that they go astray,,,,,i stay away from hunting with lead bullets nowdays,,,,,the jackets sabots kills 10000000 times faster....i also shot the 45 cal bullrts and sabots with good luck.......cci primers for all loads....good luck and keep your powder dry....jb

y_not5, I like to use Winchester 209 primers, two 50 grain pyrodex pellets or you can use loose pyrodex powder. I use the pellets for convenience. The Sidekick or the Huntsman will shoot most bullets fairly well. I like the 250 grain Shockwave by T/C but have used the 240 grain XTP bullet with good results. When starting out make sure the breech plug is greased up good with a good quality lube. I just finger tighten the breech plug and after every three to five shots I loosen the breech plug to make sure it will be able to be removed with no problems. I run a wet patch patch down the bore every third shot, to keep a clean bore. You may want to invest in a good solid range rod. If, you use the ram-rod that comes with your gun then follow this simple idea: start the bullet down the barrel without extending the ram rod, when you have the bullet half way down the barrel then extend the rod and seat the bullet.This will help you extend the life of the ram rod.
