Hello, I'm a new guy here. I have a .280 H&R ( with 26" bbl). I'm looking to have it rechambered, looking for a little more velocity, and a lot more originality. As I understand it, a .280 AI would be difficult, due to not being able to set the barrel back for a "crush" fit. So how about the .280 hawk, with its more foreward shoulder? Anyone have web sites htat may have more info. In an older "Reloader" magazine, they mentioned a gunsmith "Fred Z" but unable to find any more info on him. Thoughts and comments??? I'm not looking to make a barn-burner out of this, just something more individual. If I could gain up to 200 fps with a 140 gr. bullet I'd be tickled pink. Thanks again. Mark.
