best caliber for hackers?
« on: November 02, 2005, 12:19:30 PM »
just wondering what the best medicine would be for snot nose punks who think it is funny messing with the fruits of other people's labor.    i can see two trains of thought here :  powerful and quick.  the larger calibers here.  .40 and up.    then there is the train of thought that says use something small that requires lots of  shots until the game gives the ghost-maximize the suffering.

yeah, i know it aint funny, but for the life of me i can not figure out why some people do things like that.   i wish they would ge caught and sentenced to knock on every door of people they affected and take whatever chewing they get.    get a life.   why not funnel the interest and knowlege into something productive?  i guess that is what makes them losers.

Oh slow and painful to be sure.

This one was good and apparently an anti trapper since that's the ONLY forum he made a post in. BUT making a post gave us his IP address which will be turned over to the FBI. BUT being good I'm not sure we can actually keep him out if he wants to try again.

He messed us up real good too. I will not make public knowledge just what all he has messed up but it was fairly extensive. Matt is working now to restore all. Have no clue how long it will take or if all can be restored at all.

let me know if there is anything i can do to help.  that includes calling government officals to chew some tail and add some heat.   technical wise, i am useless,  but i wonder if it helps if a lot of complaints are recieved about a given incident?   just a thought.

let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I don't know about Native American forms but what comes to my mind is a trip into the woods, someone tied to a tree and a gut shot with a low powered .22 rimfire.
From there you just let nature take its course. Bears, birds wolves or ants - it makes no difference to me. I like the idea of someone seeing themselves eaten before they die.

my favorite reply thus far.  imagine a world,  where if you broke the law,  you where switched in public.   i am willing to bet we would have alot less criminals running around.

remember that incident a while back where this kid was going to get switched in public in a foriegn country?   at the time i thought it would be the best thing to happen to that spoiled little brat.  i never did hear how it ended.

Maybe if they gave a few of these hacker / virus spreader people the end of a very short rope a lot of this crap would stop. BTW..being whipped with cane is still a practice in some places

I don't think that the hackers should be lethally hurt.  But it might not be too extreme to break all of their fingers at each of the joints.
Just a thought.

Let the law get them, they aren't worth the bullet.  The best punishment for those feeble geniuses who think they are smarter than anyone else is rock hard labor.  Once you have bent their backs they are a lot smarter after they re-learn to stand straight.

Then I would probably treat them like sex-offenders but with a special bracelet that lets the law know when they go on-line.  In addition, to help work off their 'community time', they could work for the law performing anti-hacker chores (with a picture of the last rock they broke on the desk in front of them - lololol).  Just a thought here.  Mikey.

The Louisville Slugger is a great idea but the target may be off. Make them bust their own computer up. Then by judicial order ban them from owning or using a computer for five years.
Setting an example is not the main means of influencing others; it is the only means

The only problem is “hacking” is one of the safest crimes one can commit.  they get caught less than 3% of the time.  Then only end up paying a small fine plus the loss of their computer equipment in some cases.  Personally they need to add some 'teeth' to the penalty of 'hacking'.  Lawdog

They have had examples and so far it isn't working.  Remember a couple of years ago when they caught that guy that released that virus that did millions of dollars worth of damage to so many peoples computers.  The verdict handed down was $100,000 fine, plus court costs, 5 years probation and the loss of his computer equipment.  He was also told he couldn't own a computer until after his probation period was up.  Now compared to all the damaged that he did with his virus the penalty was a slap on the hand.  Oh and by the way it was the guys second computer related offense.  In my opinion the penalty should fit the crime.  Lawdog
