Mink rolling in!
« on: November 04, 2005, 01:38:55 AM »
The mink are coming steady, only a few large  bucks are prime aka white pelt skin.   Most are light bluish grey going to white.   I skin but dont put up my mink till just before i sell so they are all fresh looking and dont get  a stale yellow as some can get if kept too long in  wrong storing conditions....  smells a bit minky in fur shed from accidental of course mink gland  (whoops) cuts   LOL...
Did you know that Aces' mother was a very good mink trapper?

Rdfx  I can't get started with Mink for another 4 days,my job keeps getting in the way.I set for coyotes for 4 days then checked for 2 days.Had 14 the first day and 9 the second day.I had 2 with bad mange on day 2.On that line the coyote numbers are way down.We have 4" of wet snow and thawing during the day and freezing at night.I love this stuff.Found Beaver sign by the house tonite.Got to do the Bogmaster thing!
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!
