Anyone seen or tried one of these. www.smokelessmuzzleloading.com I was thinking of getting one but was first wondering if anyone has had any experiences with one either good or bad. What do you think about the 1 in 36 twist rate? Do you think it would shoot a light sabot round like a 215gr PR bullet ok? I have been watching this forum for some time now and there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people on here. Any input either good or bad would be great..  Thanks...mk2217

Scan down to the "NEF Question" post. I asked the question and got an answer and some replys from at least one that has one of these. You might want to question him about the rifle. I am considering it pretty seriously myself.

I built my barrel out of a Adams&Bennett replacement 45-70 barrel, it is 4140 chromoly steel, 1 in 22" twist rate, 26" long. I built a lug and welded it on to fit an H&R receiver. Breech plug is 5/8 fine thread with a nose on it simular to the one used in savage rifle. The SMI barrels that I have read about are all shooters. Check out "doug's message board" and look in the savage smokeless muzzleloader section for more info on the SMI barrels.

Thanks for the info on that site. They really seem to like the SMI . Maybe I'll have to give one a try...

Belching Smoke is half the fun of muzzleloading to me!
