Have been using my range rods for loading and cleaning but not carrying a extra rod hunting and the jag on rod is useless so made one to fit the rod that i can use to clean and seat a pointed bullet..unsure what they expect you to use there jag for. Ram rod is inserted handle first as rod carrier hole dia is to small for jag to fit through.

NICE! Did you put both sets of threads so it locks into the rod? The original one works good to seat flat nosed bullets like conicals but is worthless for seating SST's/Shockwaves or for swabbing the bore. Would sure be nice if H&R/NEF would do something similar. Thanks for posting the pic. :grin:

Yes I put the thread on it so it will lock on the rod....after hunting season I could make some.

This is a good fix for a problematic situation. Additional pic's and more details on the thread/s sould be very helpful.

Moderator(s) How come we don's have stickys and FAQ for the huntsman forum? Much good infromation is spread out among all the pages.

Great question Daniel. I wondered the same thing this week when I began researching to buy my Huntsman. BTW, next time you head through Cottage Hills, make a detour down my old street, Circle Drive.

That is great I have been looking for something like that, addaptors to use a regular jag or bullet seater with the huntsman ram rod or a jag that fits its threads. If you make em i'll take 3. If you you need some $$ up front let me/us know & the check is in the mail!!

I will make them for $9US shipped if additional ones shipped at same time they would be $8.
I have several jags gathered over the years and they all vary in diameter. I can make them to the diameter you want so they fit the patches you use.

Thanks for the congraduations on the buck. Would like to use the muzzle loader on a elk or moose one day...have taken a couple moose with the long bow. That must have been a great hunt with the muzzle loader and your elk.

marylandeer (down in the Modern Inline Forum) gave me the measurements of his Knight jag, this is what he came up with.

It is tapered, the first ring (goes in barrel first) measures .470, next one down is .464, next one is .457 then .451 and the last ring is .445.

I guess the taper would be to accomadate the folds of the patch as it would get thicker as you go back. I did lock my calipers down on the NEF jag (if you can call it that) and it is smaller than the last ring (.445) on the Knight jag. :roll: The Knight jag works very well in my NEF with T-Shirt patches.
