i shot a Buffalo Classic today
« on: November 10, 2005, 08:20:23 AM »
i was at the range this morning after the morning bow hunt with my son and a friend so they could do alittle shooting.my son shot my 20ga ultraslug and his handi 223 and the other guy shot his Rem 700 7mm mag or something like that :?

they did there thing and i watched another guy shoot his Buffalo Classic in 45-70.he had this gun scoped wth a 3-9 Leupold vari x II.he would shoot 3 shots and then he would shoot the bull with me for a while.then he would sit down and shoot another 3 shots.i asked hows that thing shoot?he said take alook through the scope.what i saw on his targets were groups that woud measure around 1.5 inch.this gun would shoot group after group after group all around the samesize.i forgot what load he was shooting but i remember he was shooting the Remington 300gr HPs out of it.then he offered the gun for me to try.i never shot a 45-70 before so i took him up on his offer.after shooting a 3 shot group with his gun it had preformed just like it did before with a group around 1.5inch.the recoil was just a big push so i dont think it was stoked up to much.i was very impressed with the gun to say the least.this thing will shoot good groups over and over again and with a trigger that felt around 6lbs.i better look into getting one of these barrels for one of my frames.i bet with a 2lb  trigger that Buffalo classic would shoot under 1 inch

WOW what a nice shooting gun

I will shoot the BC 45-70 on Monday for the first time.I did load some 405 grain FP with 60 and 65 grains of black powder 2f Goex,I will keep you posted on the results and the recoil
 :D
I will also drag the 30-06 Handi along ,I know this gun will put 3 shots just inside 7/8" at the 100 yard target :-D  best $179.00 bucks I ever spent for a gun that print groups like it does.

Shooting the Buffalo Classic

Yep,you ain't never gonna be the same again. My BC is about the mostest fun rifle I ever shot. That's especially true if you reload and can work up loads suitable especially for you.
I don't know anyone who has started shooting 45/70 who hasn't just gotten positively smitten with big bullets and this is especially true with the BC.

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

45/70..it's almost a religion.

I let one of my friends shoot my BC 45/70 and he went right out and bought one and so did his brother!  It's just too much fun!  44 Man
