FORMER COMMIE AMMO!!!
« on: February 21, 2003, 06:40:46 AM »
Some of the .22 LR ammo that is coming
from Eastern Europe seems to have steel cases.
They do not expand to seal the chamber so
you get a pretty decent pressure blast from your
breech!
Make sure to wear shooting glasses!

I suppose it would depend on your chamber? I shoot wolf ammo in several of my guns and because of the price I do not feel bad about the steel cases being throwaway cases in centerfire and I have had no problems I have only shot a small amount sofar of the russian 22 with steel cases but have had no problems as you described. It is some thing to watch out for though thanks for posting your expirience with the ammo and your problem with it. Shooting glasses are a good idea at any time. Jim

I have tried it in several guns with the same effect?
The spent cases are "BURNT" black all the way to the
rim from the blow-by. It isn't WOLF though, The ones I
have are in a green box. I'll post the brand later.
They are stout loads for a rimfire it seems, and quite
accurate.
