I have a Tasco 1.5 x5 EXp lying about, and put this on my BLR in 358.
The scope appears to be a bit heavy , other wise for bush stye shooting I think the power range is good.
When I get around to it I was thinking maybe going for a 2x7 x 32

You get lots of view, and the scope looks good on top of the rifle, as I saw one mounted on a used rifle awhile ago at a dealer.

leupold 2-7x33 or the compact 3-9.  THe leupold 2-7 is one of the best gerneral big game scope on the market.

I've had a Leupold 2-7x Vari-X Compact on mine for over 20yrs, mounted in redfield rings and base, the only time I've adjusted the scope is when I changed loads over the years, which hasn't been often.

I have a VXII 2X7 mounted on my 257 BLR 22 years ago, I think.  Shoots damned good - punches holes right through deer with those Fed Premium 120 Nosler's!
