any ideas as to when it was made and how much it might be worth?
i know its not worth awhole lot but he is trying to get some idea as to how much to ask for it.

:D  :D I have had more fun with the two H&Rs that I own than all the other handguns I own combined.  One of my first handguns was a 929, it went every where with me for years.  It is a good shooter and never failed me.

Now to answer your question.  Although they are good little pistols, they won't demand a big price when selling.  If your friend's gun is super nice, it may be worth a few more dollars, but in my area 125-175 dollars would knock it dead. :?

Revolvers don't seem to be in high demand so most of the prices listed here are correct.  The used auto's seem to be incharge of the market right now they seem to bring in the highest prices.

The only revolver i see thats priced higher for some reason is the 357mag 6" stainless here in my neck of the woods they seem to be $399 while the blue ones are $199.  The 357mag in 6" SS is priced higher than the 44mag for some reason.

:D DMan, Have you taken a look at the price of a Model 57 S&W lately?  They are demanding premium prices.  In many cases, almost double the price they sold for new.  Wheel guns are still holding their own, most all Colts and some S&Ws are still high.  By the same token, many of the autos are down considerably.

Take a look at Auction Arms or Gun Traders you might change your mind. :D  :D  :D
