Found a Gun in my Safe
« on: November 16, 2005, 05:26:33 PM »
While digging around in my safe tonight, I found a gun I had totally forgotten I had.  I've not shot ML for the past 4 years, and found a T/C Black Mountain Magnum Side-Lock with wood stock.  I had gotten into shooting PRB before I stopped and went back to center fire, and I don't think this gun will do that with 1:28 twist.  Or, has anybody had any luck with PRB in this twist.  Really want to try for a doe this year with ML and PRB.....

Got about 30 pounds of plumber's lead in the garage, a pot and a round ball mold, so wanted to get rid of some of it.  But, thinking about it, got a .44 cal mold, so I guess I will pour some bullets and sling some lead downrange

It'll be fine if you get close enough!  Just in case it doesn't, carry a long knife and stick em if you miss!

I'd bet it would be real good shootin' 300+ grain conicals. You'd might want to designate it yore elk rifle.  :D
